Medgate has been named one of Canada’s Top Small & Medium Employers for 2016. This award recognizes exceptional workplaces with forward-thinking human resource policies.
“The old assumption that smaller organizations offer less attractive benefits is looking increasingly out-of-date,” said Richard Yerema, Managing Editor of the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project at Mediacorp Canada Inc. “This year’s SME winners provide striking examples of smaller organizations ‘getting it right’ on a range of important benefits.”
Employers are evaluated on eight criteria: physical workplace; work atmosphere & social; health, financial & family benefits; vacation & time off; employee communications; performance management; training & skills development; and community involvement.
“Canada’s economy is changing, along with our long-held beliefs about job stability at larger organizations,” said Anthony Meehan, Publisher at Mediacorp. “People see many larger organizations being affected by globalization and the increased pace of technological change, often outflanked by smaller, more nimble competitors.”
Medgate has been won several awards over the past year, including recognition as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies; being shortlisted for the Canadian Chamber of Commerce’s Private Business Growth Award; and being named by Aon Hewitt as one of the Best Employers in Canada.
“Medgate’s key to success is that we have an extraordinary culture based on values of product innovation, customer satisfaction, and respect for employees. It sounds simple, but it’s amazing what happy employees can achieve for customers. The employees at Medgate understand that they’re making the workplace safer and healthier,” said Mark Wallace, President of Medgate.
