Medgate is pleased to announce that it has been selected by MD Anderson Cancer Center, the largest freestanding cancer center in the world. Medgate’s Occupational Health software will be deployed from MD Anderson’s Texas headquarters and will be used to manage medical data for 18,000 employees (including faculty) and 1,200 volunteers.
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, which marks its 70th anniversary in 2011, is one of the world’s most-respected centers devoted exclusively to cancer patient care, research, education and prevention. In addition to MD Anderson’s main campus in the Texas Medical Center in Houston and two research campuses in Bastrop County, Texas, the institution has developed a number of local, national and international affiliations.
In 2010, U.S. News & World Report’s “America’s Best Hospitals” survey ranked MD Anderson as the top hospital in the nation for cancer care. It has achieved the top ranking seven times in the past nine years and has ranked as one of the top two hospitals for cancer care since the magazine began its annual survey in 1990.
